ABOUT

Case grew up at Three Chimneys Farm, which was Founded by his parents in 1972, where he worked in the summers in the Yearling and Broodmare Divisions as well as the Saratoga Sales. After graduating from DePauw University with a BA in Economics, he spent six years in Chicago, working at Arlington Park, Ernst & Young, and the Hyatt Corporation in the Marketing sector. 


In 2003, Case spent a year abroad at both the Irish National Stud and Arrowfield Stud in Australia, then returned to the Family Business to run the Sales Consignment, and then all aspects of the Farm. When Three Chimneys was sold in 2014, Case remained at the Farm as Chief Commercial Officer for 8 years,  while also helping outside clients with their Bloodstock Management, Purchases and Equine Insurance needs; hence Case Clay Thoroughbred Management was formed. At the end of 2022, Case moved full-time to Case Clay Thoroughbred Management.


Case currently  sits on the Board of Keeneland,  is a Board Member of the Breeders' Cup and also served as Chairman of KEEP and Gluck Equine Research Foundation. He lives in Lexington, KY with his wife Lorin and three children, Anna, James and Eleanor.

Case's domestic and global relationships in the Thoroughbred Business have provided his clients access to Bloodstock in the Private Market that cannot always be found at Auction. That being said, not every horse can be bought privately, so Case sources horses at auction as well, including the Services below:

SUCCESSES


  • Purchased HIT SHOW  privately, who went on to win  his first G1, the $12 Million Dollar G1 DUBAI WORLD CUP,  as well as the  G2 Lukas Classic  at Churchill Downs, the  G2 Fayette Stakes at Keeneland and the G2 Louisiana Stakes  at Fair Grounds
  • Purchased  SUBSANADOR privately, who went on to win his first  American. Grade 1, the G1 CALIFORNIA CROWN, as well as the G3 Philip Ieselin Stakes.
  • Purchased DALIKA privately in Germany for Bal Mar Equine,  before she won a Graded Stake, who went on to win multiple Graded Stakes, including the G1 BEVERLY D STAKES
  • Sold PUCA for $2,900,000 and DALIKA for $1,650,000 in 2023 Inaugural November Consignment 
  • Brokered the Deal for Three Chimneys Farm for MAGICAL WORLD, who later produced multiple G1 Winner GUARANA, G2 Placed MAGIC DANCE, Stakes Winner BEATBOX and TDN Rising Star CORNUCOPIAN
  • Brokered the Deal for John Antonelli for IVANAVINALOT, who later produced Champion SONGBIRD
  • Involved in Managing Kentucky Derby/Kentucky Oaks Starters 5 of the past 7 years. 
  • Co-Brokered the Stallion Deal of G1 Winner SILVER STATE
