APRIL 5th, 2025 MEYDAN  Case Clay Thoroughbred Management Private Purchase HIT SHOW won the $12 Million Dollar Dubai World Cup by three-quarters of a length for Wathnan Racing. Hit Show broke well enough and Florent Geroux settled him into eighth position around the first turn and down the backstretch. He traveled comfortably, under cover around the second turn. Geroux bided his time, and eventually steered him to the inside, coming out of the turn, finding a spot to begin his run. Hit Show steadily gained momentum, but with just a furlong remaining still had at least four lengths to make up on Mixto and Walk of Stars. He found another gear, and passed Mixto with a strong final push, while finishing faster than the Saudi Cup Winner and brave warrior, Forever Young. Brilliant ride by Geroux, and brilliant training job by Brad Cox and his team, including Dustin Dugan and E.J. Bowler.

HIT SHOW SCORES A SECOND CONSECUTIVE G2 FOR WATHNAN RACING

OCTOBER  26TH, 2024  KEENELAND  Wathnan Racing hasn't had Hit Show for very long, but what they lack in longevity, they have more than made for with success when the grey collected his second graded race for his latest connections in Saturday's GII Hagyard Fayette Stakes at Keeneland.

Hit Show was acquired privately by Case Clay Thoroughbred Management for Wathnan Racing prior to the Sept. 28 GII Lukas Classic Stakes. Closing from off the pace that day, the 3-1 shot posted the narrow victory while collecting his sixth lifetime victory. Favored to make it three straight in Lexington, he was eased off the pace as longshot Bolzy took them through an opening quarter mile in :23.49. Nestled in between rivals in sixth as the leader cut out a :47.46 half, the Brad Cox runner was hustled into contention leaving the backstretch. But when Pedroza turned for home and saw a gaping opening along the rail, where he already was, plans changed.

“I saw the hole and I said, 'You know what? I’ll go inside,'” Pedroza said.  Gavea took care of the rest, knifing between horses in the final half-furlong to post a three-quarters length victory over another late runner, Big Trouble. (Story by Daily Racing Form, Photo by Amanda Hodges Weir)

CLICQUOT BUBBLES TO THE TOP IN G1 COTILLION

September 20, 2025 PARX Clicquot, purchased privately to join original owners X-Men, Madaket and SF Racing, took her spot at the top of the 3YO filly division after wining the G1 Cotillion this weekend. Clicquot was away without incident and was content to take up a position towards the back of the pack, as Ashland and Acorn Stakes winner La Cara showed the way in advance of Dry Powder, easy winner of the local Cathryn Sophia Stakes last out. Irad Ortiz, Jr. had Clicquot (romping winner of the GIII Indiana Oaks) between longshot Indy Bay and Oaks heroine Good Cheer down the back of the track. Clicquot was asked to take the gap between Indy Bay and a scuffling Good Cheer three furlongs down and she tracked into it nicely as La Cara and Dry Powder continued to match motors up front. Pulled off the latter's heels in upper stretch, Clicquot confronted Dry Powder with less than an eighth of a mile and prevailed in a driving finish over Dry Powder. Ourdaydreaminggirl, second in the Cathryn Sophia, closed from last to just miss at 42-1, while Frizette and last-out CCA Oaks winner Scottish Lassie endured a tough trip in fourth. “For her to come and beat these fillies, I thought it was quite an accomplishment for her,” Trainer Brendan Walsh said. “She was a little keen down the back, but Irad gave her a lovely ride. He just let her settle into herself and she traveled beautifully into the straight.

“If she won at Indiana, the plan was to go here and give her a chance, but she's been working well like a top-class horse does. She's all class, she makes our job easy.” - Adapted from the TDN article written by Alan Carasso.

October 3, 2025 BELMONT AT AQUEDUCT Case Clay Thoroughbred Management Auction Purchase BOTTAS makes it 2 for 2 winning the Breeders' Cup Win and You're In, G2 Pilgrim Stakes. Dahman’s Bottas outlasted Heeere’s Johnny in a thrilling stretch duel to win Friday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Pilgrim, a 1 1/16-mile inner turf test for juveniles, at Belmont at the Big A. In victory, Bottas earned a berth into the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf on October 31 at Del Mar as part of the “Win and You’re In” Challenge Series. Bottas entered from a last-to-first 2 1/4-length debut score going 1 1/16 miles on August 23 Travers Day at Saratoga Race Course. On Friday, Bottas validated his performance with a stalking victory when gamely holding off the Grade 3-placed maiden Heeere’s Johnny.

"Hopefully this will give him more experience because it's only going to be his third start when he runs in the Breeders' Cup,” Clement said. “He's a top-class horse and he overcomes adversity.” "Great trip. Manny got a great position. He wasn't as far back today,” said Clement. “He had to wait a bit for the stretch - I know he was hindered once or twice in the stretch - but still, he was in the right position and Manny was able to get the job done. He's a very good horse.”

Clement said Bottas is ready to take on a cutback to one-mile in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.

"I'm not worried. I think he has gears,” Clement said. “You don't see that often on the turf. He was able to accelerate and accelerate again at the top of the stretch. Very impressive." HIT SHOW WINS G3 FAYETTE STAKES AT KEENELAND

October 25, 2025 KEENELAND Case Clay Thoroughbred Management Private Purchase HIT SHOW rolled to his second straight triumph in the G3 Fayette, keeping his Keeneland record a perfect 3-for-3. While Hit Show trailed the field early in the 2024 Fayette, the son of Candy Ride was sitting slightly closer to the pace in this year's edition. Racing in midpack through fractions of :23.01, :46.66, and 1:11.31, jockey Irad Ortiz had Hit Show poised just off the leaders as the field turned for home. As a battle on the lead ensued between Gosger and Dragoon Guard, Hit Show angled into the clear, charging past his younger rival and hitting the wire clear by a length. "He deserves all the credit," Ortiz said of Hit Show. It was Ortiz's first time riding the gutsy gray/roan. "(Cox had told me) to keep contact with the field. I ended up in a beautiful position on the first turn and he was traveling very nicely down the backstretch. He was there for me every time I asked him." Hit Show stopped the clock in 1:50.39 over a fast main track. Multiple graded stakes winner Rattle N Roll, closed furiously from the back of the pack to get second by a neck over Gosger. HIT SHOW was purchased for Wathnan Racing and he is trained by Brad Cox who won the leading trainer title for the Keeneland Fall meet after Hit Show's Fayette win.

January 10, 2026 GULFSTREAM PARK Case Clay Thoroughbred Management Yearling Purchase, THUNDEROUSLY was the easy winner of his debut at Gulfstream Park. He settled in mid pack and took plenty of dirt to the face before confidently picking off each rival around the turn and then into the stretch, winning by 5 lengths in the 1 1/16th test. Trainer Bill Mott was obviously very impressed, particularly the way Thunderously finished, launching his career around two turns.

Thunderously “had a huge turn of foot,” Mott said in the winner’s circle immediately after the race. “He started kind of early and for him to re-break. . . . He won easier than the other one [Chief Wallabee]. The way he trained, I thought he was more of a two turn horse. THUNDEROUSLY was a Keeneland September purchase for Wathnan Racing.
